President Woodrow Wilson visits National Guard troops returned from Texas during Mexican Punitive Expedition
President Woodrow Wilson at the National Guard training grounds in Sea Girt New Jersey, to visit with troops returning from duty in Texas during the Mexican Border Campaign (aka Pancho Villa Expedition) of 1916. Brief glimpse of The President stepping from his 1916 Pierce Arrow 38-C Series 4 Brougham Limousine, parked next to a row of army tents. The car displays a unique American Eagle radiator cap ornament (and an AAA emblem on the radiator). He is surrounded by officers, who greet him. The next scene show the President and the unit's commanding Brigadier General, seated in rocking chairs in a tent. Wilson, in dress clothes, including top hat, mounts an army horse, and rides along with officers, to review the Guard troops drawn up in formation. He sits astride the horse, next to the General, and removes his hat in salute as the troops march in review.

They all wear cloth hats, except for one soldier wearing the new 1916 model steel helmet. They don't seem too concerned about possible enemy fire. An officer stands up, relatively exposed, and points out directions. Several soldiers lean forward in the trench, next to one manning a 1916 model MG-08/15 machine gun with wooden gunstock and a pistol grip (Maschinengewehr 08/15).The principal gunner is suddenly struck by an enemy bullet and falls back from the line. Led by an African guide, an ox-wagon travels in the savannahs of Africa. Various scenes showing natural savannah, lake, acacia and baobab trees in Africa. Maps of Europe, India, China and Australia are superimposed over Africa to give a comparative measurement of the continent. Savannah and hills in Africa. Dramatization. Zulu warriors emerge from savanna grass to attack a neighboring tribe. Tribes people run away from Zulu warriors. Zulu warriors breach through tribe’s mud walls. Tribesman shoots an arrow. Tribesman uses smoking wood to poke through mud wall and attack invading warriors. Tribesmen run and hide from invading warriors. A warrior snatches a baby from mother. Livestock, cattle and goats, run away from warriors. Zulu warriors walk out of the besieged village with captured villagers. Two children hide from warriors in grass. Captured villagers are made to sit by invaders. An African man with wooden slave yoke. African villagers are fitted into wooden slave yokes and chains. An African mother breastfeeds her baby. President Woodrow Wilson returns to his home at Princeton, New Jersey, after casting his vote int the 1916 National election. The President moves through a crowd to enter his car. Scene shifts to some Well known Republican politicians and leaders walking in a group along a street in New York City. At the far left is Republican New York City Mayor John Purroy Mitchel aka "The Boy Mayor of New York. Near the center of the group is "Charles Evans Hughes, former Governor of New York State, and former Associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court who is running for President as a Republican, against Democratic incumbent President Woodrow Wilson. (Hughes resigned from the Court in June, 2016, to pursue the Presidential bid.) The group is being followed by some newsmen and photographers, and curious onlookers, walking in the street. One with a newspaper stuffed in his jacket pocket, reaches out to Justice Hughes and shakes his hand. Next, Justice Hughes is seen posing briefly, with others, on the sidewalk in front of a building. He starts to doff his hat.
