Opening slate reads: "Iraqi Revolt. Pro-Reds Ousted in Military Coup." Glimpse of the City of Bagdad, capital of Iraq. In flashback, Abd al-Karim Qasim is seen posing on a dais with a civilian, on July, 14, 1958, when he deposed King Faisal II and assassinated him and his family. Narrator states that he, himself, was killed by a firing squad in the wreckage of the Defense Ministry building. (On 8 February 1963, the Iraqi Ba'ath Party overthrew him in a coup, and a day later he was executed by firing squad. Up to 5,000 Iraqi communists were also killed in the aftermath) Views of the city seemingly quiet, but the search for communists is going on.
