At beginning of the film, a German officer instructor pilot and his Technical sergeant student approach a German ME-262 jet airplane set up on maintenance jacks in a snow covered airfield. A mechanic stands as they approach. The landing gear of the plane are in the process of extending, which the instructor pilot discusses and they are moving. Closeup of the landing gear fully extended. The instructor pilot signals to a mechanic in the cockpit and the landing gear are then retracted. Closeup of the gear retracting into the fuselage of the plane. The mechanics leave the instructor pilot and student who then climb up to the airplane cockpit. The instructor points to two hydraulic valve handles for the landing gear in the cockpit. They then both jump down from the plane and continue talking about its controls as they walk. Next, the student pilot is seen seated in the aircraft cockpit while a communications technician stands on the wing and explains the aircraft's radio equipment to him. The pilot is wearing a helmet and headset. The technician points to a radio console to the right of the pilot, explaining the functions of its various switches. United States troops advance through the Siegfried Line and enter a German village and town during World War II.

Film opens showing American soldiers riding in an open tracked personnel carrier, along a road in France, during World War 2. They pass a burning destroyed German tank at the roadside. A U.S. Army truck full of troops and a jeep follow the personnel carrier. Next dragon's teeth tank traps are seen in the snow. A U.S. M10 tank destroyer and a truck are parked near the dragon's teeth. A gunner atop the M10 fires his M2 Browning heavy machine gun. The M10 continues to move past the dragon's teeth. Infantry are seen accompanied by a whitewashed M4A3(76) Sherman tank. Other troops are settled into positions in the snow beside the narrow road. View from behind advancing troops. Next American soldiers are seen taking several surrendering German soldiers into custody.

Joseph Goebbels is finishing remarks, to the effect that we can still have a life, during a gathering of Nazi party officials, in a room somberly decorated as if commemorating a funeral (possibly that of Paul von Hindenburg, in 1934). Small pictures of Hindenburg and Hitler flank a large imposing painting of Hindenburg, over a mantle. All gathered join Goebbels in saluting and repeating "Heil" three times. Next, Adolf Hitler is seen, speaking and haranguing audiences in several different venues and circumstances. Politician Hitler, in civilian clothes, having been appointed Chancellor, stands with German President Paul von Hindenburg and Vice-Chancellor, Franz von Papen, in 1933. Hitler, in uniform, signs a document during a ceremony.
