U.S. Air Force Military Airlift Operations in the Vietnam War and during border tensions in Korea

View from a U.S. Marine bunker as enemy shell explodes nearby, during the siege of Khe Sanh in the Vietnam War. The marines firing mortars and a 105mm howitzer from their bunker. Scene shifts to U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel James P. Sheehan, standing at Camp Pendleton, California. (He was a company commander in the siege at Khe Sanh.) As he describes the C-130 aircraft support operations, a contingent of marines marches past, behind him. Scene shifts to a civilian narrator standing in the Military Airlift Command (MAC) Headquarters Command Center at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Among other things, he describes MAC support to the Tactical Air Command in Korea. Camera focuses on MAC air routes in the vicinity of the Philippines, Japan, and Korea. Next, is seen view of airfield at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, briefly at sunset, and then at night, as pilots of the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing and their F-111 aircraft prepare to depart for Korea, in response to border tensions, in August, 1976. Ground crewman directs a taxiing F-111 using lighted wands. The F-111s takes off. One of them is seen landing after the 7 thousand mile flight to Korea, as Major Paul Malandrino,Jr. (unseen) of the 366th Wing, speaks about MAC's airlift support. Memorial monument to José de San Martín is dedicated in Washington, DC

Argentine Ambassador Honorio Pueyrredón speaks into four microphones, at the dedication of a memorial to General and independence leader, José de San Martín, located in Judiciary Square, Washington, DC. (It was moved to Triangle Park, at Virginia Avenue and 20th Street, in 1976.) This is a duplicate of the original located at the Plaza San Martin, in Buenos Aires. It is a gift to the United States from Argentina. View of the flag-draped equestrian statue, as it is uncovered displaying the flags of Argentina and the United States and numerous doves flying skywards. View of the memorial base, as an aide climbs steps and presents the Ambassador with an object that he places into an opening in the base. Scene shifts to President Calvin Coolidge, stepping to the podium, surrounded by officials and notables, including First lady Grace Anna Goodhue Coolidge. They applaud and then sit as the President begins to speak. Change of scene shows closeup of the President and Mrs. Coolidge standing on a stand decorated with flags and bunting, set up next to a building. Mississippi Governor William Waller welcomes U.S. President Nixon at Mississippi Economic Council meeting in Jackson

A large crowd gathered at the Mississippi Economic Council silver anniversary meeting in Jackson, Mississippi, held at the Coliseum. President Nixon enters the meeting auditorium with his wife Pat. Whole of the crowd in auditorium applauds. Officials greet and welcome them on stage. Mississippi Governor William L Waller gives introductory address and praises Nixon's concern for Mississippi. President Nixon listens carefully to his words and shakes hands with him as he finishes his speech. Other officials attending included Senator Jim Eastland, Senator John Stennis, and Mississippi congressmen.
