Dog Show at Westminster Kennel Club fixture at Madison Square Garden in New York, United States. Dogs being groomed before the competition. Thousands of dogs from different breeds compete. Dog named Zeloy Moormaid Magic wins the title of the best dog.
Large crowd gathered at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. People waving farewell to the men aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) battleship as it is launched into the East River. Steam boats and tug boats move beside the Battleship as it leaves the naval yard. Crowd on the grandstand includes the sponsor, Miss Esther Ross, and the Governor of Arizona, George Hunt. Also Eva Behn, Salee King, Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels, Marie Farroll who was Maid of Honor, and Mrs. Ross, the mother of the sponsor. Views of the USS-Arizona underway in the East River, surrounded by many small tug boats and steam ships.
Belgian soldiers representing 12 different regiments march in New York City in a Victory Loan parade following World War I. The soldiers march carrying rifles, and are accompanied by several teams of dogs towing wheeled machine guns. Children press close to view the regiments and the dogs. A streetcar is parked in the background as the troops march by. The troops pose in formation for the camera.
U.S. Marine Honor Guard in dress uniform stands at attention on the ramp at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, anticipating the arrival of President John F. Kennedy, and his party. They decide to reposition themselves, and march, at 'trail arms,' toward the camera. Many sailors and other naval personnel and families have turned out to see the President. They are lined up behind a rope across the ramp. Some children are seated on the ground. Camera focuses on some with closeups. Several members of a greeting party stand near steps positioned for placement against Air Force One, when it arrives. Governor John A. Notte, Jr. of Rhode Island strolls across the ramp to where State Rhode Island State Trooper, Robert F. Washburn Jr.(wearing number 18 on his uniform) and others, are standing around a table holding a large silver punch bowl. Trooper Washburn holds a matching silver goblet. A phalanx of photographers stands ready for the arrival. The presidential aircraft lands (It is Douglas VC-118A, serial number 53-3240). White smoke is seen off to the side, as the United States president's arrival is greeted with cannon salute.
