Brooklynites parade to celebrate the Centenary of Brooklyn, New York

View from above of parade along city street celebrating the centenary of Brooklyn, New York. American flag and bunting decorate Brooklyn Borough Hall (former City Hall) near elevated train station. Crowds of Brooklyn residents and visitors watch from sidewalks and some ticker tape is thrown from buildings. Marchers dressed in white carry oversized forks and spoons and follow a decorated truck float carrying Salvation Army members. The back of the float is a sign reading: "Waste Material Helps Us to Reclaim Broken Humanity." Brooklyn Firemen march in dress uniforms. Behind them, dozens of war veterans march, wearing shiny steel helmets and carrying American flags. New York City Mayor, Fiorello LaGuardia, and other officials, salute with hats over hearts, as American Flags pass. Sign on pole near them reads: "Cruising Taxis prohibited." Boy Scouts, carrying dozens of American and troop flags, parade, followed by men in Native American Indian costumes and then by various fraternal groups in the line of march.
