U.S.military conducts "Operation Longhorn," the largest domestic exercise ever to involve a civilian community (Lampasas, Texas).

To distinguish themselves, they wear wear unusual insignia, and helmets (somewhat Adrian-style). They drive away in motorcycles and a jeep, to patrol the "occupied" town.
