View of waves rippling over salt deposits in a part of the Russian lake. A dredging-type tool spins as it grinds and extracts salt from the lake surface. A conveyer system carrying the extracted salt to rail cars. A woman inside a control shack, on a railroad car, controls the speed of the conveyer with a large wheel. Salt is seen clearly deposited on the conveyer panels as they rise. View from below, of the control shack and water being discharged back into the lake from a pipe. View of the conveyer, mounted on its rail car, emptying salt into a train of open rail cars on a parallel set of tracks. At the same time water flows from its discharge pipe, on the opposite side, back into the lake. Finally, a locomotive is seen pulling rail cars filled with salt.

Polish Refugees travel three years and 3 thousand miles to Iran during World War II.

Many Polish refugees are seen in the final phase of their monumental trek of three years and three thousand miles from Poland, during World War 2. Scene shifts to Poland in 1939, where polish refugees crowd roads carrying their belongings in wooden carts and other conveyances. They are seen at a rest stop where they obtain food. Animated map shows path of refugees fleeing East into the Soviet Union, following the German invasion in August, 1939. The path continues Southeast in 1941, as they flee from the German campaign, Operation Barbarossa, into the Soviet Union. Their journey continues along the west coast of the Caspian Sea, through the Caucasus, to Persia (Iran). Views of refugees arriving at the Persian border, where they are seen near many tents, and being provided with articles of clothing from British and American Red Cross Stations. Refugees donning new shoes and other items. Young girls having their hair styled. Refugees sit at long tables where they receive hot meals. The Marshall Plan being launched to assist recovery of Europe after World War II

The camera moves around to show the Exiria, displaying a large American flag and words,"Friendship Food Ship," on her hull. A steam locomotive on train in France, delivering relief supplies, displays crossed American and French flags on it. Trucks on road in France, displaying French and American flags and pictures of the Freedom Train on their sides, with words:"Ravitaillement, offert spontanment au peuple de France à partir de peuple Americain."
