Film opens showing people assembled at a celebratory dinner, honoring French aviators, Captain Dieudonne Costes and Lieutenant Maurice Bellonte, who on September 1, 1930, flew their Breguet XIX aircraft,"Le Point d'Interrogation" (The Question Mark) non-stop from Paris to New York, and thence to Dallas Texas,landing at Love Field, Dallas, on September 4th,where they were greeted by 30,000 aviation enthusiasts. They are being honored by William Edward (Colonel) Easterwood, Jr., a Texas philanthropist and aviation enthusiast who had offered a $25,000 prize for the first one-stop flight from Paris to New York to Dallas,Texas. Colonel Easterwood delivers congratulatory remarks, and presents his check for the prize to the fliers. Closeup of the Easterwood check. Broadcast microphones are placed close to Colonel Easterwood and the fliers. Next, the fliers stand near the end of the event. Scene shifts completely to Costes and Bellonte with their aircraft, "The Question Mark, aboard a steamship, ready to sail back to France. Among these are: Hanoi; Calcutta; Karachi; Alepo; Athens; Rome; Paris; and New York. Farmers explain how they suffered the drought and dust bowl storms in Dalhart, Texas, during 1934.

Farmers of Dalhart, Texas describe the terrible sand storms they suffered in the region during 1930s. In 1960 interview, farmer Harold Hogue describes a severe dust storm he experienced in 1934. Scene change to mid 1930s footage showing dust bowl views of desolated farms, drought stricken lands and houses and farm equipment all piled high and buried in dust and dirt. A 1960s' farmer on his tractor describes how the dust storms destroyed his wheat crops and left sand and dust on everything. He states that they experienced 110 dust storms in the Spring of 1934.

In Fort Worth, Texas, famous ventriloquist Edgar Bergen and his doll Charlie McCarthy are interviewed during a parade in their honor, that started at the T&P Terminal following their performance at Casa Manana. Here they are seen stopped along the parade route to talk to Amon Carter from radio station WBAP, the first radio station in Fort Worth. Amon Carter presented Charlie McCarthy with a Shady Oaks hat, his custom with all notable persons who visited Fort Worth. A crowd of spectators stands near them and watches during the radio interview.
