Opening slate identifies location as Cambodia, FSB Bronco, June 20, 1970. U.S. army gun crew of 1st Battalion, 30th Field Artillery Regiment are seen stripped to the waist, standing by their 155mm howitzer, listening to an officer at Fire Base Bronco, during the Cambodian incursion of the Vietnam War. After the officer leaves, they begin loading and firing their gun. Some hold their ears as the gun fires. Scene shifts to ammunition dump where gunners pick up more shells and bring them to the gun site. The crew begins firing again. Their officer is present and communicates by wireless phone. United States troops of the 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division in Cambodia, during the Vietnam War. Several soldiers are seen in wooded area. Then, carrying their gear, the soldiers walk across the open field toward an area where a camp is being set up. (Note: Within a few days, all these troops distinguished themselves in combat with North Vietnamese Army troops. One, in particular, Leslie H.
