A navy training program in the U.S. teaches sailors different methods of attack and counterattack. Two sailors demonstrate the offensive wrist lock. One of the sailors strangles the second with his right hand. The second sailor grabs the wrist of the attacker in such a way that his thumbs are on the back of the palm and fingers are on the wrist of the attacker. The attacker falls on the ground with the sailor still holding his wrist. The sailor kicks the attacker in the groin area and takes out his pistol from the holster. Next they demonstrate reverse wrist lock. The attacker advances with his right hand outstretched. The sailor uses his left hand to secure the upper arm of the attacker and bends his wrist with his own right hand. He twists the arm of the attacker. They demonstrate double wrist lock. The attacker tries to grab the knees of the sailor who passes his left arm below the left elbow of the attacker. He grabs the wrist of the attacker with his right arm and bends his arm. Both of them fall down. (World War II period).
