He then goes to the side of the car and checks the steering wheel and controls associated with it. Next, he starts the car by means of the hand crank. . He pauses to check and clean the left oil lanp., as he climbs behind the wheel, cleaning it as he gets seated. Now ready to drive, he lowers goggles from his hat and leaves the parking spot. The car is seen driving along a rough dirt road until it encounters a log on the roadway. The driver stops to remove it, tossing off to the side of thr road, before proceeding again.
