In time codes 1:14 through 1:31 the heavy cruiser USS Salt Lake City ( CA-25) and the USS Vicksburg, CL-86, a Cleveland Class light cruiser, in camouflage (measure 33, design 6D), are seen shelling Japanese anti-aircraft gun emplacements around the east side of Motoyama airfield. The battleship, USS Idaho (BB-42) is seen in time codes 1:32 to 1:53. Other, unidentified U.S. warships are also seen bombarding the Island.

'Excavating for a New York Foundation '. A crew of laborers can be seen shoveling dirt into a four-wheeled wooden wagon. A full wagon is slowly lifted out of the pit to street level by a steam driven early design crane. Advertisements and campaign posters can be seen on the wall of the building in the background, including a large billboard for Cremo cigars. Location is West 29th Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, looking east, in lower Midtown, Manhattan. Policeman talks with laborers at top of excavation, who are awaiting the filled wagon. They guide the wagon to an elevated landing on the perimeter above the excavation site.

Snow covered mountains on east coast of United States. Planes search for a simulated lost pilot during a rescue training exercise. A parachute glides down with a Doctor carrying emergency medical supply. A dog team searches for the soldier. The soldier is found and given medical care. The dog team and men face many obstacles. The team crosses a ravine by rigging rapelling lines. A sled dog is attached to the line and lowered to the waiting team where he is uncoupled from harness. Scenes of Japanese people celebrating their naval victory. Date shifts to 1910. Cartoon depicts Japanese annexation of Korea. Cartoon illustrates Japanese actions in World War I when, siding with the Allies, Japan acquired the German-held Shandong (Shantung) Peninsula of China, as well as German-held Marianas, Carolines, and Marshalls islands in the Pacific. Japanese representatives are seen participating in Post World War 1 international activities. They signed the so-called Five-Power,Four-Power, and Nine-Power treaties, and participated in the League of Nations. Glimpse of two Japanese officers, followed by cartoon depiction of the Mariana, Caroline, and Marshall Islands, that Japan insisted on keeping. Cartoon shows them being fortified.
