Wedding Breakfast ceremony of Archduke Charles of Austria-Este and Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma, at Schwarzau castle
Distinguished officials and guests are arriving in the garden of the Schwarzau castle, on Sunday, October 22, 1911, for the wedding breakfast, following the marriage, the day before, of Archduke Charles of Austria-Este and Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma. An outdoor altar has been set up and Roman Catholic clergy are engaged in ceremonial preparations. Princess Zita kneels at a singular pew and is joined by Charles, who stands beside her. (A small dog is seen briefly in the foreground.) From a different camera angle, the couple are seen kneeling side-by-side, as Priests proceed with their ministrations. Camera pans left to 81-year-old Emperor Franz Joseph standing, in the center of the yard, surrounded by the rest of the participants, including a group of girls in white dresses. A floral wreath with an organza bow and tails is suspended by one of the castle windows. Some staff watch the ceremony from a window.

Film opens with scenes of British Horse Guards on parade along street in London, England, watched by crowds on the sidewalks. Next, an elaborate coach, bearing an image of the Coat of Arms of the city of London, is seen arriving at the Guildhall (71 Basinghall St, London EC2V 7HH, United Kingdom). Footmen step to the coach door, where one places a step stool while the other takes the ceremonial mace for bewigged Lord Mayor, Sir Thomas B. Crosby, who steps from the coach, followed by London Sheriff, Sir Charles Augustin Hanson, and other city officials. Four uniformed trumpeters stand in front of the Guildhall and play a fanfare announcing arrival of a royal open coach carrying the monarchs of Great Britain and Germany. When it arrives, King George V quickly steps from the coach and assists Queen Mary as she alights. They are followed by the King's cousin, Emperor (Kaiser) Wilhelm II, of Germany, who steps from the coach. The Kaiser is dressed in Hussar uniform including fur Busby adorned with Totenkopf (Death Head) emblem. A flurry of activity ensues as the King and Queen and the Kaiser engage in greeting various officials and dignitaries. The Kaiser recognizes a woman, likely a relative, in the group and hurries to greet and kiss her.

Two American officials brief the press as a number of original manuscript files are displayed, with "Joulia" and the year 1911 written on them. Others display the year 1913. Journalists take down notes. The officials also display copies of newspaper articles which include a political cartoon above an article entitled "Entre Policiers." Another article is headlined " ENORME." A man breaks the seal of a wooden box labeled "HWL" number 5, as the two officials along with a girl stand next to him. They take out some files from the box and look at them. One of the official looks at some photographs, including one that appears to be of an individual involved with the manuscripts (perhaps the author)..The setting appears to be a university or archive.

Closeup scenes show Wilbur H. Durborough-America's famous press photographer, seated behind the steering wheel of a 1911 Alto touring car parked on a street in Chicago, Illinois, getting ready to depart for Germany, during World War 1. Sitting behind him is his assistant cameraman, Irving G. Ries. Both have goggles pushed back on their foreheads. and both smoke cigars. Some spare tires are seen behind Mr. Ries. As camera moves back, they are seen surrounded by numerous friends and well-wishers as they prepare to depart from Chicago. Next, Durborough is seen standing on the bridge of the Holland-America steamship, S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam, with ship's Captain Jan Baron, who is on lookout for mines and submarines. Captain Baron passes his binoculars to Mr. Durborough. Captain Baron and Mr. Durborough stand on the deck looking at some documents. Lifeboats on davits behind them are ready for emergency. Durborough drives his car from the ship terminal onto a street in Rotterdam, with Captain Baron standing on a running board. The car is loaded down with luggage and equipment. He drives away as the Captain and others wave goodbye. Displaying an American flag on the hood, Durborough arrives at the German border. Dutch officials examine the car's contents, including a look into the engine compartment. Next, Durborough is stopped by German border guards, who examine his passport and greet him in a friendly manner. Durborough is seen in the offices of U.S.Ambassador James W.Gerard, as he describes his plans for visiting. He is honored by a visit from Prince of Reuss of German General Staff, Prince Max of Baden and Count Von Bernstorff- son of German Ambassador to the United States, who are seen chatting with him, before entering their car to depart.

President Franklin D.Roosevelt (FDR) sitting at a desk, reading congratulatory letters and telegrams from supporters. He is surrounded by grandchildren: Curtis Dall,Jr.; Sara Roosevelt; and Anna Eleanor Dall. Next is a closeup of FDR signing a letter thanking Dan V. Stephens for his telegram. (Stephens was Democratic Congressman from Nebraska's 3rd District, 1911-1919. He died in January, 1939.) Scene changes to the lawn at "Springwood," the Roosevelt family estate in Hyde Park, New York, where President and Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt are sitting in wicker lawn chairs.
