Senator Dodd and Senator Cannon attempt to set one sample on fire but it remains unburnt. Senator Cannon then Examines the next sample passed to him. Senator Thomas Young and Senator Stennis are also present in the session.
NASA official George Mueller testifies before Senate panel members in Washington DC. Senator Margret Chase Smith arrives after questioning has begun but quickly settles in and participates. Senator Smith questions the NASA officials extensively and appears dissatisfied with their testimony. She becomes visibly irritated, removes her glasses and stares angrily at the NASA officials. Administrator James Webb gives extensive response to Senator Smith. But she continues to question the NASA witnesses sharply. Robert Seamans attempts to interject explanatory comments and sits back with arms folded. Senator Margaret Chase Smith again stares angrily at the witnesses. At this point, Senator Dodd speaks in a measured way. The fourth NASA official speaks briefly and the hearing concludes.

In top of the fourth inning, the Yankees' Bill Skowron hits a home run to left field. In the bottom of the fourth, hits by Del Crandall, Andy Pafko and Spahn put Braves on top 2-1. Hank Bauer (seen in closeup) hits two-run homer for Yankees. Braves tie the game and send into extra innings, where hits by Crandall and Billy Bruton win it 4-3 in the tenth. Braves celebrate on field. Announcer notes that the Braves also won game two and moved "toward another world's championship." But Yankees would come from behind to win the series in seven games.
