Testing aircraft for Strategic Air Command Escape and Evasion mission. A United States Air Force C-119C aircraft being tested for short field landing capability on rough terrain at Eglin Air Force Base in Okaloosa County, Florida. The C-119C makes a normal full flap landing and reverses its engines upon touchdown, which together with wheel braking causes the aircraft to stop rapidly.
