Demonstrations of early aircraft by aviators in Europe.
A film on the development of air power of the United States. Wilbur Wright demonstrated his invention before the King of Italy and Italian government officials in 1909. Soldiers push the Wright aircraft out of a hangar. The King of Italy and Italian officials watch the take off of the Wright aircraft from a launching rail. Flight of five early model aircraft over water. French aviator Louis Bleriot seated in his Bleriot VI Tandem monoplane. A man turns the propeller and starts the aircraft. German pilots prepare to fly a mission in a Rumpler C.IV two-place biplane during World War I. German armorers stow small bombs in the rear cockpit, and mount a large one underneath the airplane. Scene shifts to pilot in cockpit as he taxis along an airfield. Skull and cross bones is painted on side of the airplane fuselage. A parabellum machine guns sits in the empty rear cockpit. Sequence shifts to aerial views of a city from a reconnaissance airplane, at 1000 meters altitude. Among things seen are a river and an impressive building (possibly a cathedral). Views of photographer taking pictures from the rear cockpit, while the airplane is in flight. Aerial views of the city of Verdun and of battles taking place in no-man's land. (indicated by smoke rising). At this point, a sequence shot by an intrepid German combat photographer, from the battle of the Somme,is inserted. It shows trenches subject to an intense British artillery barrage. The German troops are seen fleeing from their trenches and running to escape the bombardment. Some extremely heavy explosions occur on the German positions. (Note: a slate erroneously characterizes the running German soldiers as advancing.)

View of tank number 97, from in front and below, shows its name "Normandie" painted on its front. Tank # 94 is seen, again, as it rolls over a tree; drives right through a masonry wall; climbs out of a deep ditch; and rolls into a concrete building, destroying it. The sequence concludes with Char 2C #97, riding over antitank obstacles, driving them into the ground.

Film begins showing the formidable German Atlantic Wall fortifications in place during World War 2. German soldiers look through binoculars. British troops are seen in the distance, where they have penetrated the River Orne, in an amphibious assault near the village of Ouistreham in Normandy. Obstacles are seen planted by the Germans all along the shorelines. German artillery and machine guns fire on those troops with devastating effect. Allied Winter campaign prior to entering German heartland, during World War II
U.S. Army soldiers arriving in Army trucks, one company at a time, for 24 hours rest on the West band of the Moselle River, after combat on the East bank, during World War 2. The soldiers receive a hot meal, a hot shower and shave,issue of clean clothing, and get to attend a movie.(Poster advertises the film Bathing Beauty, starring Esther Williams and Red Skelton.) The next morning, troops board trucks to return to the front line again. Scene changes to U.S. troops in snow, as winter arrives. Squadron of British Spitfire aircraft seen on snow-covered field as airmen refuel them from hand-carried gas cans. An American Army woman nurse clears snow from military vehicle in Paris.
