Following his return to Patrick Air Force Base, from Grand Turk Island, at the conclusion of the Mercury-Atlas 7 mission, a motorcade honoring Astronaut Scott Carpenter and his wife, Florence, proceeds from Patrick Air Force Base to Cape Canaveral in Florida.
