At Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii,vehicles and U.S. Air Force personnel surround the open tail of a Military Air Transport Service C-97 aircraft, carrying French troops en route home from Indochina. Scene change shows the French troops wearing flower leis, being treated to refreshments by Red Cross volunteers, in a hangar at the base. A U.S. Air Force officer greets some of the French troops. Change of scene shows group of Americans greeting French troops as they deplane though rear doors of a C-97 airplane. Greeters place leis around their necks and hula dancers entertain them as they walk across the ramp to waiting Red Cross buses. One French soldier dances a few steps with the hula dancers, on his way. Their bus pulls away.
French troops returning to France from Indochina arrive at Hickam Air Force Base, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii. Several wounded, on litters, are carried down a ramp from their aircraft. Change of scene to inside a hangar at the base, where a Red Cross bus is parked and group of Red Cross volunteer women are seen at a Red Cross Canteen. Several Red Cross buses and vehicles are parked at the hangar entrance. A large sign above the canteen reads: "Aloha, from the Hawaii Red Cross Chapter Hickam Air Evac Canteen, American Red Cross Volunteers." Scene shifts to a Military Air Transport Service (MATS) Boeing C-97 aircraft taxiing in, on a wet ramp at Hickam Field.

Americans gather around the open rear doors of the aircraft as troops exit. A group are getting refreshments from volunteers at the hangar canteen.
