Military police execute German spies in Belgium.

Execution of German spies at Henri-Chapelle, Belgium. The prisoners include: Unteroffizier Manfred Pernass, Oberfähnrich Günther Billing, and Gefreiter Wilhelm Schmidt. They participated in Otto Skorzeny's Waffen SS Commando force Operation Greif, in which English-speaking German Commandos operated behind Allied lines, masquerading in U.S. uniforms and equipment. They are brought to execution spot of the 482nd MP guard station by military police of 509th MP. Spies are tied to stakes and blindfolded. MP firing squad composed of twenty four men fire. Execution of the spies. Officer checks to insure they are dead. View of slumped bodies of spies still tied to the stakes. The firing squad marches away. (World War II period).

On 8 December, 1944, U.S. soldiers test a new type rocket launcher at Viareggio, Italy, during World War II

U.S. soldiers insert charges into rockets and then load them into a multi-barrel rocket launcher mounted on a 37mm gun carriage, set up on the shore at Viareggio, Italy in World War 2. They load the 4.5 mm rockets into the firing tubes. Next the rockets are seen being fired by a soldier from a remote position. Battle of Malmedy during World War II

Trucks carrying U.S. troops of the 30th Infantry Division arrive in snow-covered woods, where they begin preparing 50 caliber machine gun ammunition and setting up defenses. A 90mm gun manned by the 143rd Antiaircraft gun Battalion in position to command a road. U.S. jeep moves along a muddy road past other positions where such guns are set up. Scene shifts to the town of Malmedy, where U.S. Army engineers mine bridges with 800 pound TNT charges. View of American soldiers standing on a bridge next to the explosives. Some civilian women run past several U.S. soldiers. A German Army corporal is seen who was wearing an American uniform, insignia, identification and dogtags, when captured. He is driven away in a jeep by U.S. Military Police.

U.S. P-47 and Four U.S. P-51s in flight over England after end of World War 2 in Europe

The flight leader's P-51D has an ace of spades playing card painted below his cockpit and two dice -- a five and a four --painted on the nose of his plane under writing that reads "Down for double." He also has symbols for 16 victories painted below the rear of his cockpit. (Reportedly, this is the aircraft of Major Gordon Graham, of the 355th Fighter Group, who retired as a Major General, after a career in the U.S. Air Force.)
