7th War Bond drive opens at Times Square in New York City, during World War 2. A large number of people gathered at the occasion. Crowd gathered around a statue of the flag raising on Mount Suribachi in Iwo Jima, Japan. (This is the original plaster edition created by sculptor Dr. Felix W. de Weldon, which served as the model for the future Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington Virginia). First U.S. soldiers discharged from U.S. Army at a separation center toward end of World War 2. The soldiers exit a bus and enter a army facility at Fort McPherson in East Point, Georgia. They confirm their earned service points after 5 years of service, and and prepare to leave. Sergeant Ronald Stroud with 132 service points hands over papers to an officer as he leaves the army. He returns his uniform and gear to quartermasters. Stroud being given a pay check worth 1400 dollars. (World War II period).

A Japanese steamer crashes into a pier in St. Johns, Oregon. Japanese steamer Kohwa Maru Fuchu. The damaged pier after the steamer crashed into it at a great speed after its motors failed. Damaged wooden planks on the pier as men look on. Passengers aboard the ship managed to escape unhurt.
A glider being made out of orange crates and boxes in Toledo, Ohio. A ten year old boy, John Susor, along with friends works to construct a motor less airplane with orange crates, boxes and clothes line. He works on different parts of the glider. He paints the airplane. John Susor seated in the glider as his friends gather around. Two boys push the glider on a field for a take off. The body of the glider collapses and John gets out of it.
