African American cotton pickers rush to gather the present crop before the Southern legislators accept the proposal for a cotton ban. The laborers use both antiquated and modern methods. The pickers gather the picked cotton on the roadside. The farmers supervise as the gathered cotton is wrapped up in bundles and weighed. The cotton is then loaded into trucks for shipment.
