Two new greyhound class destroyers named 'Edison' and 'Ericsson' christened for U.S. Navy at a dock in Kearny, New Jersey.

Two new destroyers introduced for the U.S. Navy at a dock in Kearny, New Jersey. Dignitaries including Mrs. Thomas A. Edison perform rituals during the Christening ceremony of the twin 'greyhound' class destroyers named USS Edison (DD-439) and USS Ericsson (DD-440). 71st Infantry Regiment arrives at Fort Dix, New Jersey for training.

The 71st Infantry Regiment of the 44th Division, New York / New Jersey National Guard arrive at a Fort Dix, N.J. for training. Guardsmen and new recruits coming out of train at railroad station.
