Princess Beatrix visits New York. Princess Beatrix of Netherlands travels to New York by sea. Dignitaries greet and receive the Princess at a harbor. The Princess visits New York to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Henry Hudson's Exploration. Civilians greet the Princess during a ticker tape parade. The Princess enters the City Hall.
The first birthday celebration of the Frisian Lautenbach quadruplets in Deinum, a village in Friesland, The Netherlands. A lady sits near the babies (Dirkje, Meint, Willem and Ytje) while they play in their cots. Nurses take care of the Lautenbach quadruplets lying in incubators in the Diaconessenhuis in Leeuwarden, Friesland. The Lautenbach quadruplets play in the backyard of the house.
The National Tennis Finals at Forest Hills, New York. Brazil's player Maria Ester Bueno wins the women's title against England's Christine Truman by a score 6-1 and 6-4. A large crowd of spectators cheer the players. In the men's championship Australian Neale Fraser wins against America's Alex Olmedo. Fraser serving again and there is a superb rally.
French Marines, returning from overseas, are met and welcomed by a French official. He goes aboard the ship as it docks, and converses with several of the returning marines. French tricolor flies from the ship. The ship carries the name: "Kairowan." and home port Marseille. The marines disembark onto pier with all their belongings, including rifles.
U.S. President Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower during a visit in Asia. U.S. President arrives in Ankara, Turkey. He gets off an aircraft and is greeted by Mahmut Celal Bayar, the President of Turkey. People on either side of the streets welcome Ike. Policemen ride bikes in a formation. Both the Presidents in a motorcade. People look from the windows of their houses. A poster of U.S. President on a building. A sign reads 'Turks trust Ike'. He is given a farewell. The President gets in a plane and leaves for Pakistan. The President arrives in Karachi. Flags of the United States and Pakistan. U.S. President is greeted by Pakistani President Muhammad Ayub Khan. Soldiers stand in a squad. U.S. Persistent climbs up a carriage drawn by six horses and is escorted by guards. People stand on either side of the streets to greet him. People look from the gallery of their houses. He gets off the carriage and visits the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. He witnesses a display of horsemanship. Ike stands with Ayub and waves.
