View of farm workers standing atop a pile of wheat sheaves on a threshing machine. This is the first wheat harvest from farms in the reclaimed Pontine marshes of Italy. The Italian flag is raised above them. Several photographers are taking pictures from the ground. Benito Mussolini in working clothes, is amongst the workers on the threshing platform, just below the pile of sheaves. Closeup shows women on the platform receiving sheaves of wheat handed down to them from people atop the pile. Mussolini feeds the sheaves into the thresher. He wears a short sleeved shirt, a neckerchief, and has goggles pushed up on his forehead. Camera moving around the rig, as work is in progress, shows it proceeding rapidly, with Mussolini working very hard. Sometime(unseen) Mussoline has donned a wide brimmed straw farm hat. At the end, Mussolini stands up on the platform, removes his hat and shakes hands with a farmer standing next to him. (Reportedly he worked the whole morning.)
