The "Antigonish Movement" adult education programs at the St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia.

The "Co-Operation" ideas of Rev. Dr.J.J.Tompkins, of St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, give rise to programs such as the Adult Education Program of the Extension Department of the University. Adults are seen participating in education program, as they take evening instruction in reading, writing, and basic economics, in a local school classrooms. Another pioneer in the "Antigonish Movement," the Rev. Dr. Hugh MacPherson of St.Francis Xavier University, is seen on a farm, advising local farmers about soil and farming techniques. In a laboratory at the University, he discusses soil chemistry, with several farmers, and shows them the contrast between plants with and without proper soil conditions.
