Amelia Earhart stands alongside Fred Noonan aboard the Matson Lines cruise ship Malolo at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro on March 25, 1937. She has arrived from Hawaii after her crash at Pearl Harbor's Luke Field. Newsreel cameraman boarded the ship at the Los Angeles harbor entrance to film Earhart's landing. Earhart is seen on deck with her navigator, Fred Noonan. Paul Mantz, her technical advisor holds a cigar. As the party leave the ship, Amelia's husband, George Putnam wearing the hat, is briefly seen following Earhart down the gangplank carrying her bags.
