Start of Korean War. South Korea is attacked by Communist North Korea. Map shows division of Korea and capital of North and South Korea as Pyongyang and Seoul. Animated arrows shows attack of North Korea to South Korea. Troops of Korean Republican Army in the South mobilizing in citiies and heading to the front. South Korean soldiers fire rifles and artillery from trenches and hills. Smoke is seen among mountain ranges during battle. Soldier looks through binoculars. Next scene is in the United States, in Lake Success, New York, where guards at the United Nations simultaneously raise flags of many nations at the United Nations. South Korean ambassador Chang Myon is seen at an Emergency meeting of the Security Council of the UN. Secretary of UN, Trygve Lie states the situation is a as threat to world peace and calls for acceptance of the U.S. demand to reestablish peace. All 9 members present raise their hands in acceptance. Next scene is back in South Korea. Scenes of displaced civilian refugees including women and children. Many are gathered together. Man helps old woman to walk. Two Korean refugee boys stand side by side as one child eats bread. Next scene is again at the United Nations. Empty seat of representative of the Soviet Union is shown. U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Warren Austin, speaks and asks that the UN members vote to to assist South Korea, repel the armed attack by North Korea, and bring peace. Camera shows Security Council delegates voting, as 7 out of 8 representatives raise their hands in acceptance.
The eve of South Korean's Independence Day (Liberation Day celebrating liberation from Japan) in Pyongyang North Korea. People demonstrate in number with Korean National flags,Soviet flags and several banners in hands.Pictures of Prime Minister Kim II Sung and Joesph Stalin in the rally can be seen.The demonstration passes under a bridge. Korean children carrying flags and banners parade on the streets. Thousands of people with floats ,flags ,banners and pictures gather to celebrate. Shows PM Kim II sung along with Russian officials spectating the celebrations from a balcony.

Lt. Edward Murphy (USS Pueblo Executive Officer) expresses his desire to “return home as quickly as possible to the United States of America” during a propaganda news conference for foreign correspondents in Pyongyang, North Korea. “I admitted and apologize and am repentant for the crimes which I committed against the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea” Lt. Edward Murphy says. News reporters and USS Pueblo crewmen listen to Lt. Edward Murphy’s speech. North Korean reporter asks, "what do you think will be your fate if the U.S. government does not apologize for the crimes of the Pueblo?" . Rodney Duke, Communications Technician of the USS Pueblo, answers, "there is a limit to the patience of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea...we will be placed on trial in this country and punished according to their laws." Official North Korean footage shows USS Pueblo crewmen play basketball, volleyball in recreation area after news conference. North Korean reporters interview Ralph McClintock, USS Pueblo Communications Technician, over tea. Ralph McClintock reads a letter from his mother to reporters, which reads, "my heart is just broken and many are the tears I have shed, however I have implicit faith in God that our country will apologize so that you will all be released."
Shows Korean girls arriving at the base of the Russian Tower of Liberation in Pyongyang with flowers and garlands in their hands. Korean bands play and Korean National flag flutters on the tower .Girls put the flowers and garlands at the base of the tower. Russian guards raise their rifles high and fire in air to commemorate the martyred. Koreans gather in numbers with flags and banners. Pictures of Stalin and Kim II Sung can be seen. Thousands of boys and girls march in columns with Korean flags and banners in their hands, celebrating the anniversary of Korea's liberation from the Japanese.
At the end of World War 2, Russian liberators arrive at Pyongyang railroad station in North Korea and being welcomed by the Koreans. People cheer Russian liberators as they pass by them. Russian tanks and soldiers parade through the streets of Pyongyang. North Korean leader Kim II Sung addresses a mass meeting. North Koreans operate farm equipment, harvest and pack rice. People celebrate a good harvest as they dance and play traditional musical instruments. A Korean river and a concrete bridge over it.
