To move in less violent rapids face forward. In violent rapids one should relax and float with the water current. To cross rapids in a narrow running stream a handrail should be used. An airman ties up wooden sticks to each other and builds a handrail. He holds it and crosses a stream and canals. An airman demonstrates how to tie a slip knot which enables one to release his bag and swim freely during an emergency.
