Pilot starts the engine and P-V2 lifts off. Helicopter is seen maneuvering making 360 degrees turns and hovering, all under good control of the pilot at all times.

An early helicopter being tested at facility of the P-V Engineering Forum (later the Piasecki Co.) in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. Pilot attempting tethered flight in a one-place stripped prototype of the P-V2 helicopter Men stand by side of the helicopter as the pilot sits in the framework cockpit. They maintain hold on the landing gear of the helicopter as the pilot experiments with the controls and familiarizes himself with the helicopter's response. A long tethering rope snakes out along the ground near the helicopter. The pilot succeeds in hovering the craft a foot or two above the ground.
