Man pours drops of halibut oil on dead fishes and gives the fish to a seal in the pond. It consumes the fish and gets back in the pond. The halibut oil is a spring tonic for the animals. People watch the seal. Some penguins walk nearby the pond. 2 chimpanzees sit on the table and a man gives them the tonic by pouring some drops of it on sugar cubes and they eat the cubes. One of the chimpanzees gives the man a spoonful of Castor oil.
B-26C takes off. Planes drop bombs in the conflict area. The bombers are followed by C-47 planes marked with crosses and loaded with food and medical supplies for the wounded in the hospitals. Pilot talks on the radio. Men attach supplies to parachutes and drop them from the plane. Air planes flying to evacuate the most critically wounded fighting men captured by the Reds at Dien Bien Phu. People watch as a Sikorsky H-34 helicopter lands. Taking the wounded people on the stretchers to safety in Hanoi. Soldiers and medical personnel help transfer the wounded from the helicopter to hospital tents. Patients receive treatment at the hospital.
President Eisenhower visits Charlotte to celebrate "Freedom Day" commemorating the signing of Mecklenburg County's Declaration of Independence; President Eisenhower gets down from an airplane and is greeted by the Governor of the state and other dignitaries. President meets people at the airbase and shakes hands with him. Soldier salutes him. President talks to the dignitaries as they make their way across a stream. Many people gathered to celebrate the "Freedom Day". President sits eats along with other dignitaries at the Freedom Shrine. He sits in the car and many people stand with placards and boards, with welcome notes written on them to greet him.
United States First Lady Mamie Eisenhower holds a floral replica of a Series E 100-dollar Savings Bond. She looks at the floral arrangement. The floral replica is presented for investment in the saving bond for the future of the United States by Mrs. George Humphrey, wife of Secretary of Treasury. They are accompanied by Mrs. Harman, Chairman of the Committee.
