The U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., United States.Two young men, selected from each U.S. State, participate in the American Legion "Boy's Nation" activities in Washington, DC. They are assembled on the Capitol steps to pose for pictures. Several of the young men shake hands with a welcoming official. They talk and laugh.They wave, collectively for cameras and then ascend the steps.

Secretary of State George Marshall leans against the auditorium stage, with the young men seated on the stage, behind him. The "Boy's Nation" members all wear identification buttons on their lapels. They pose for several photographs. An audience is in the seats of the auditorium.
Civilians gather in a square for a rally in Japan. A large crowd of civilians gather during the rally. They hold banners. A woman reads, from a long scroll, to the the crowd .Then a man addresses the crowd, and finishes by leading them in three cheers. The rally moves through the streets. Trees seen on either side of the streets. The rally proceeds. Mountains seen in the background.

Armed ski troops ascend snow covered mountains on skis.Several civilians traversing a mountain trail in , are stopped and asked for identification.Two travelers are accompanied by burdened pack animals. Several of the travelers wear turbans. A heavy military vehicle is seen near a mountain check point.
Air Force Test pilot, Major R.L. Johnson, boards North American F-86A armaments test Sabrejet aircraft number FU-611 at Muroc Air Base (soon after renamed Edwards Air Force Base). Ground crew assists the pilot with chute. Pilot puts on the helmet and oxygen mask. Aircraft taxis. Aircraft in level flight -- extends and retracts speed brakes. Plane rolls to its right and dives. Men at monitoring post on the ground. Aircraft performs several low level high speed passes.Plane lands, and Major Johnson hops out of cockpit all the way to ground where he is congratulated by another Air Force major and ground crew personnel. He puts cigarette in his mouth and feels in his flight suit for a lighter. Major Johnson set an official record of 670.981 mph by flying four times over a 1.86-mile course at altitudes below 150 feet.
