In this footage, the 400 foot shot-tower on which the 22 kiloton nuclear device is set can be seen in the foreground prior to detonation. Rocket trails or "streamers" become visible to the right of the shot tower before the explosion. After the brilliant flash, which completely vaporizes the shot tower, an immense fireball becomes visible, which churns skyward and begins to cool and blacken. The fireball quickly begins to develop into a mushroom cloud.
