Soldiers Garden Party held for disabled veterans of World War I. One thousand attended. U.S. President Herbert Hoover and the First Lady Louise Henry Hoover enter the South lawn of the White House, where they walk amongst and meet disabled war veterans assembled there. Later the President and First Lady stand and greet disabled veterans who are brought past them in wheel chairs pushed by nurses. They greet a war veteran lying on a stretcher. A veteran on crutches meets the President and the First Lady. Many of the disabled veterans suffered loss of limbs, including one who lost all except his right arm.
U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's plans for 1956 are still a secret after a press conference in Key West, Florida. President Eisenhower speaks at an informal press conference. Newsmen question him about his plans for 1956. The President parries newsmen 's questions and smiles.
The U.S. Army displays a folding bridge in Virginia. The bridge can be operated without requiring any personnel to expose themselves during an operation. A new traveling, folding bridge which is pushed by a tank is opened by massive gears. The tank passes through the bridge.
A land cruiser, giant truck treads lightly over the ground in California. U.S. army officers watch the rolligon as it moves over the ground on its enormous tires. The rolligon climbs the side of a building. It runs over the inventor without injuring him.
