Memorial monument to José de San Martín is dedicated in Washington, DC

Argentine Ambassador Honorio Pueyrredón speaks into four microphones, at the dedication of a memorial to General and independence leader, José de San Martín, located in Judiciary Square, Washington, DC. (It was moved to Triangle Park, at Virginia Avenue and 20th Street, in 1976.) This is a duplicate of the original located at the Plaza San Martin, in Buenos Aires. It is a gift to the United States from Argentina. View of the flag-draped equestrian statue, as it is uncovered displaying the flags of Argentina and the United States and numerous doves flying skywards. View of the memorial base, as an aide climbs steps and presents the Ambassador with an object that he places into an opening in the base. Scene shifts to President Calvin Coolidge, stepping to the podium, surrounded by officials and notables, including First lady Grace Anna Goodhue Coolidge. They applaud and then sit as the President begins to speak. Change of scene shows closeup of the President and Mrs. Coolidge standing on a stand decorated with flags and bunting, set up next to a building. Secretary of State, Frank Billings Kellogg, stands to the left of Mrs. Coolidge. Uniformed Argentine soldiers stand at attention in front of the dignitaries. The President shields his eyes from the sun as he observes something to his left.

A film covers chemical warfare defense training received by U.S. soldiers at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, United States. A soldier wearing special clothing enters a portable decontamination chamber and removes gloves, jacket and gas masks in separate chambers. The soldier removes his shirt and gas mask and puts it into a machine marked with a sign which reads 'contaminated apparel outlet'. He pushes 'shower push' button on the machine. U.S. Air Force Military Airlift Operations in the Vietnam War and during border tensions in Korea

View from a U.S. Marine bunker as enemy shell explodes nearby, during the siege of Khe Sanh in the Vietnam War. The marines firing mortars and a 105mm howitzer from their bunker. Scene shifts to U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel James P. Sheehan, standing at Camp Pendleton, California. (He was a company commander in the siege at Khe Sanh.) As he describes the C-130 aircraft support operations, a contingent of marines marches past, behind him. Scene shifts to a civilian narrator standing in the Military Airlift Command (MAC) Headquarters Command Center at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Among other things, he describes MAC support to the Tactical Air Command in Korea. Camera focuses on MAC air routes in the vicinity of the Philippines, Japan, and Korea. Next, is seen view of airfield at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, briefly at sunset, and then at night, as pilots of the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing and their F-111 aircraft prepare to depart for Korea, in response to border tensions, in August, 1976. Ground crewman directs a taxiing F-111 using lighted wands. The F-111s takes off. One of them is seen landing after the 7 thousand mile flight to Korea, as Major Paul Malandrino,Jr. (unseen) of the 366th Wing, speaks about MAC's airlift support.
