Solar energy furnace for production of enormous heat at Massachusetts, United States. The Army Quartermaster Corp shows a new solar furnace that captures the suns rays in a 1400 square foot heliostat. Situated at Lake Cochituate, it is capable of generating heat close to that of a nuclear explosion. Officers watch the furnace as it burn through a steel sample. It will be used to test effects of nuclear bombs on various materials, without the logistics and expense of nuclear test firings.
Recon Marines from 1st Force Reconnaissance Company Test Unit 1 demonstrate free fall parachuting. A sign identifies the Auxiliary Landing Field at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California. (Narrator refers to the marines as para-scouts of the 1st Marine Division.) The marines, wearing back and chest parachute packs, board a U.S. Navy Grumman S2F aircraft with tail code "RZ" and number 136777. It taxis on the ramp and is next seen taking off from the runway. Two helicopters are parked on the airfield ramp. Next, viewed from the aircraft, a marine is seen in free fall. Soon he appears as only a speck , approaching the ground. Next, he is seen, from the ground, as his chute finally opens, and he lands, and begins to spill air from his billowing chute on the ground.

He talks about the war time excise taxes, live music taxes and their effects on the State of Nevada. Bhutanese troops stand at attention. Prime Minister Nehru inspects the Bhutanese soldiers. They travel by Jeep on the street in Tibet. Other people also accompany them. Nehru rides a yak to the Himalayas. They again travel on mule on the lofty Himalayan ridges. Tibetan people gather to greet them. They again travel on yaks. Mountaineer warriors hail Nehru's arrival with clashing tambourines.
