Presentation of missile programme Project MX770 is shown. Technicians assemble missile and check RTV-A-5 (X-10) for flight. Animation of RTV-A-5 shows various compartments of the missile. Integral rocket booster and two fin mounted ramjets(engine) are present. Fuel tank is present over the front wheel of RTV-A-5. Missile engine is shown and missile is placed in the left wing of the RTV-A-5.
Animation of radar guidance to RTV-A-5 from a radar-disc mounted van under missile project MX770 is given. Large test equipment of the guidance system are seen. Auto-navigator present in the anterior part of the missile is shown in the animation. Large van trailers are prepared to install Telemetering equipment present in the laboratory. Two technicians telecommunicate with each other.
Testing of the Celestia Autonavigator is presented under the Missile Project MX770. Technician makes gyro test of Celestial Autonavigator in laboratory. ADS C-47, a flying test laboratory is in flight. Animation shows assembly of a auto-navigator step by step. A graph plot of error against time shows exponential error for pure gyro test while continuous fluctuating error for star checked test.Technician checks auto-navigator in the laboratory.
Position control system of a missile during flight under missile Project MX770 are explained. An auto pilot controls the flight through Reads Electronic Analog Computer or REAC. Disturbances like wind, dust or engine failure are evaluated from flight equation. The auto pilot control the path of the flight through hydraulic server. Generally the movable control system is mounted on hinges of a plane as shown in the TL-238. The rotatory equator moves the control system and positions the flight correctly.
Schematic diagram of rocket motor power plant of RTV-A-5 and Navaho 2 missiles is given. Various parts of the motor are shown and their position is specified. Animation shows pathway of fuel to combustion chamber. Vertical and horizontal view of rocket in test stand is given. Day and night view of rocket fired from Santa Susanna field are shown.
Vertical view of operation stand is shown. A gantry crane transfers rocket from operation stand to (73000 lb thrust) static test stand. Technicians control rocket through automatic sequencing and firing panel from the control block house. As the rocket is fired, thrust impact and smoke are seen. Technicians are visualizing and controlling the rocket . A diagram of rocket motor and animation of fuel path is also given.
