French youth labor on the railroad between Oran and Dakar in the Sahara Desert of North Africa. A man operates machinery to assist with laying railroad lines. Young men workers lift steel rails. They place the steel rails upon the sleepers. A streamlined train moves on the tracks through a hilly terrain. The train arrives at a desert outpost. Vichy French officials, including Admiral Francois Darlan detrain. They review an Arab honor guard on horseback. Darlan appears to use a Nazi German salute when greeting the Arab officials. The officials are greeted and welcomed. Arab soldiers on horses and camels. The visiting officials view Arab horse cavalry maneuvers and dances.
