Soldiers of 101st Airborne Division build a bridge during Operation Hawthorne. They use ropes to put logs of trees across a river. The surface of the bridge is leveled by nailing a plank on an uneven log. African American soldier hammers nail in log through plank. Soldiers stand on bank as the bridge is being built.
