Armed U.S. Army guard patrols as local Russian workers unload bags of flour from cargo ship into horse-drawn carts (Droshkys) at Archangel, Russia, during the Allied North Russia Intervention in World War 1. Carts are driven to the opposite side of the pier where men and women unload them and slide them down narrow planks to women in small boats. Some Russian women pose for the camera, in their boats.
