Nearly 75,000 New Yorker's throng the broadway to cheer French President Auriol as he moves in a traditional parade towards the City Hall. Parading soldiers carry flags of United States and play drums. At the City Hall City Mayor Vincent confers a Distinguished Service Gold on the French President and he in turn gets a high French award Legion of Honor. Photographers take pictures of the ceremony. The French President and the City Mayor along with other officials come out in the gallery of the hall and shake hands as soldiers parade down the street and crowds cheer them on.
