United States 28 Troop volunteers and black combat engineers chop trees and blast the strip in Shingbwiyang, Burma during World War II. Sergeant Bremer and Captain Scott fix dynamites in the blast holes and blast goes off. Colonel Clarence and Major Arthur R. Dewey, special surgeon meets Dr. Underwood and enters hospital tent. Soldiers empty mud with cardboard boxes. Men roll a log up and down the strip to level it.
