French artillerymen fire a 155mm long gun during World War I
Western Front Date:1916 Duration:40 sec Sound:NO SOUND
View of a pedestal-mounted French 155mm long gun, in a well-fortified position during World War 1. The emplacement is protected all around with rows of sand bags. It is deep enough that the gun is not visible until raised to fire (and then only the barrel is visible). The French gun crew loads and fires two rounds. The area around the emplacement is a desolate no-man's land. (WWI; WW1)
