Shadow details and flash burns caused due to atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima, Japan during World War II. A series of wooden gymnastic bars. Side of wooden bars partially shielded from the flash by a large building. Side of a wooden bar with a shadow cast by a portion of parallel bars. A flash area on upright portion of the bar. Parallel bar moved downward from the notch and the shadow cast by it. Flash burned and protected areas on side of vertical bars. A wooden frame for multiple play ground swing and the shadows cast by the metal hooks to which ropes of the individual swings were attached. Shadow cast on the side of vertical bar by the end of the parallel bar which is moved from its original position to show the shadow cast by it. Shadows cast on one portion of the vertical gym bar and the remaining surface which has been flash burned. Side of vertical gym bar with a shadow cast by the wooden cross member on top of the bar.
