The U.S. Navy Transport ship, USS Anne Arundel (AP-76) anchored off shore at Normandy, France, on D-day. The Large Landing Craft Infantry LCI(L) number 90, alongside the Anne Arundel. Troops climb down rope nets into LCI(L) number 88. Higgins boats heading toward the shore. View from LCI(L) heading toward the beach. The tide is high, and ship rides up enough that troops climb out wihout getting their feet wet. (This is a later landing wave, with no visible enemy opposition.)
