Aquanauts gear up aboard USS Vital (MSO-474) underway in the Gulf of Mexico. Two Aquanauts on deck edge of USS Vital check each others gear prior to going into water. View of one of Aquanauts at deck edge donning his face mask as second Aquanaut checks the oxygen tank. One of Aquanauts makes funny faces for camera. Aquanaut assisted with his gear. Two Aquanauts on deck edge check each others gear. Aquanaut sit on deck, assistant helping man suit up with gear. Dives made by Aquanauts in shorts. Two Aquanauts sit on deck. Aquanaut moves slowly over to deck edge by second teammate. Two Aquanauts check each others gear on deck. First Aquanaut on deck edge jumps into water with splash. Second Aquanaut leaps into water with splash, disappearing below the surface. Marker buoy floats off side of the ship. Two aquanauts return; one climb up the ladder. Aquanaut comes back aboard after the 200"qualification dive. He moves to center of deck. Assistant helps to remove his tanks. Second Aquanaut climbs up ladder reaching the deck edge.
