Trees in full flowering bloom are seen in background. The scene shifts to Tajikistan, USSR, where men work with pickaxes preparing irrigation channels and planting trees in a vast, otherwise barren region. Farmers carry sapling trees to the project and plant them in the bottom of a deep (dry) irrigation channel.
