Men,women and children observe the proceedings from a lawn and applaud. General de Gaulle and his party emerge from a building and are escorted to the L'Ecole Polytechnique Monument, presented to the cadets of USMA by cadets of that French school, in 1919. General de Gaulle places a memorial wreath at the base of the monument. General de Gaulle and all other officers salute.
