A documentary about the dangers posed by avalanches and the methods to control them in the mountainous regions of the United States. The Utah National Guard gun crew and forest rangers work on an artillery gun. A gun is fired, a high explosive shell hits at Rustler Mountain of Alta resort. Snow avalanche is triggered and drifts down the slope. The controlled avalanche reduces the chances of an uncontrolled avalanche in the near future.
