Army vehicles of U.S. 85th Regiment pass through shell torn villages in Italy during the Po Valley Offensive of World War 2. Vehicles pushing from Monte Pastore drive through a shell torn village. Italian civilians walk through the debris. Opening scene shows local man, woman, and girl, standing in doorway of a house. An American soldier appears momentarily nearby. Next, two Army trucks followed by several jeeps, drive down a narrow street, raising lots of dust. Some Italian civilians watch from a stoop at entrance of a building. A lone jeep passes in the opposite direction. The houses of the village are made of masonry and stone. Two women and two and two children walk over some rubble. A jeep pulling a trailer speeds past the camera. In the background, two American soldiers are eating. Next to them is a stretcher, leaning against the building wall. Other supplies are also seen in the vicinity. A truck drives past. (Note: Plain paper opening slate simply says "Kurland." which, reportedly refers to David Kurland, 196th Signal Photo Co.)
